Reflecting on My Year: Pivoting and Lessons Learned

It's been a difficult year for me business wise - starting strong and full of optimism, but with a combination of meanie clients and AI infiltrating every area of everyone's business, I've had to do a lot of thinking, adapting and self-care. If anyone lives with anxiety, you know that it makes any life struggle ten times worse. Those times when you're meeting a friend for coffee, and all you can think in your head is 'when is that client gonna pay me' or 'what will I do now people are using AI copy'.
On the plus side, I've been working with some truly inspiring musicians this year - it's been such a boost to a dreary landscape to see people coming together through music and community.

No More Spotify
I will no longer be offering Spotify play listing as a service in 2026. This is for the following reasons:
Fair payment: Spotify do not pay artists a fair percentage - it's pennies not pounds
Morals: I do not agree with Daniel Ek's investment in AI warfare, and I do not agree with allowing ICE adverts
AI Ownership: Spotify have now written it into their terms and conditions that they will be able to use your music to influence their AI output.

Looking Ahead with Confidence and Positivity
It's been a toughie, but with a year of self-reflection, learning value and meeting some wonderful people who have helped shaped me for the better has allowed me to realise what services I can provide to the creative community and how best to work with them to unlock their authentic selves.
