POST ROME
After Party released on April 11th
QUANDIU STABIT COLISEUS, STABIT ET ROMA, QUANDO CADIT COLISEUS, CADET ET ROMA, QUANDO CADET
ROMA, CADET ET MUNDUS - Bede The Venerable (702 AD)
In these times of streams, likes, views and other overblown numbers that seem to drive the music industry hype these days
and people riding an X-factor type personal story in order to generate publicity, it’s easy to forget that once we used to enjoy
a good old fashioned gig in a local venue with a damn good band.
Post Rome are exactly this - four schoolmates who first hit the stage before they even hit puberty for a rendition of Born To
Be Wild at their Year 6 end of term show (footage rumoured to be online but it’s already a charming mental image!).
They have taken their hometown of Sunderland by storm, their anthemic choruses coupling with their energetic live show
cause quite a stir among the gig going crowd, turning the lads into a bit of a sensation in their local scene and media.
Their next show on Friday 4th April headlining at The Independent, Sunderland to launch new single Afterparty - the sound
of “anxiety being melted through disco beats and bittersweet aching lead guitar” according to the band - is close to sold out
already… following on from a rapturous reception opening for Happy Mondays/Black Grape legend Shaun Ryder, who we
assume said very nice things about the band even though no one could understand a word that left his lips.
“Afterparty is about being overwhelmed with different aspects of life and confiding in the one person who can ‘be the voice’
when you’re ‘lost in the noise’.
‘I’m still awake and it’s Friday so maybe I’ll tear my face off’ is the lyric that
sums this song up pretty well.” - Jamie (Lyricist & Drummer, Post Rome)
The song is self-released supported by a video live video by their in house film maker Isaac Johnson and with summer
festivals being booked and more to come…
It won’t be long before they have expanded their empire to conquer the hearts and minds and dancing feet of people all
over the globe. Don’t be late to the party …if you want a chance of getting into the decadent Afterparty!
“WHEN FALLS THE COLISEUM, ROME SHALL FALL; AND WHEN ROME FALLS--THE WORLD.”
- Lord Byron (1812 AD)
