It seems to be a hot topic at the moment - what IS a social media manager?
It's complex and admiteddly some grey area. Generally in a business set up, a Socail Media Manager will be managed by a Marketing Manager/Head Of. A social media manager will then manage:
Community Managers
Graphic Designers
Video Editors
Copyrighters
Social Media Executives
Paid Ad Executives
Client Relations
Strategy
Data Analysts
Influencer Managers
and everything in between....
It's difficult to manage expectations when you have a small team and realistically, social media management from a small business/freelancer/sole trader is going to be very different in tasks and cost comparatively.
Ultimately - if you're a small business or creative yourself, hiring a smaller team (like us) is the way to go. You won't been bombarded with branding terminology, escalating prices and will get a much more bespoke approach.
Is social media management easy?
Yes and no. Yes in that if you're consistent, stick to the plan and are confident in you goal then it's not difficult. But, no in that more often that not creatives and businesses will:
Forget to post
Cross promote the same thing across all channels
Get their aspect ratios wrong
Spend hours making something in Canva to then find out if they'd just found a great pictures that shows their 'brand' their engagement would have been higher
Not interact with their audience
Try and do trends that aren't relevant
Managing expectations
As social media managers, there are no guarantees. We cannot guarantee we'll sell out your show, get your artwork in your dream gallery or sell-out your latest craft endeavour. We can drive traffic, help shape your strategy and help you find, grow, and define your audience.
In conclusion...
Social media managers do a lot and work hard, but can't be everyone. If you need high-end graphics, show stopping videos, punchy blog writing and influencer collaborations, let us know! We can shape a package for you :)
